A Visit to the Farm

Hello sweet sunshine today!

If you live in the south, then you know that it has rained ALL week and in many places snowed! Alas, as much as I love snow, I will never have any here in Atlanta! But I am so glad that the sun came out today. My kids had literally not been outside since last Friday ... sure does make for a long day with 4 and 5 year olds!

Whats on the agenda for this long weekend? We're headed to Chattanooga, TN! Originally we had bought a Groupon to stay on a converted steam boat on the river downtown, however, due to the rain this week the hotel is closed all weekend. So last night we were frantically trying to book somewhere else! But we have a hotel booked now will be on our way early tomorrow morning!

Last Saturday was a beautiful, almost 80 degree day. Hubby and I had plans to go ice skating, but we were afraid the rink might be melted .. haha! Instead we visited Nash Farm Battlefield in Hampton, GA. Being new to Henry County I've wanted to explore the more "touristy" sites and the towns here. We're familiar with Stockbridge and McDonough, so we ventured into Hampton.

Nash Farm Battlefield was the site of a Civil War Battle and would certainly be the place to visit for the history buff. We toured the museum and then drove around the property some. It was nice to simply just spend some time outside and we think it would make an excellent sunset picnic location this summer!

Here are some photos from our day!

Here are some photos from downtown Hampton as well! Quaint and old fashioned!

 Have a great Holiday weekend!
