easter + outerbanks

Hello again friends,

April is simply flying by and my weeks and weekends have been very full!

Easter involved visits from family, kite flying, and of course celebrating the love of our Savior.

Last weekend the hubby and I took a weekend trip to NC's Outerbanks. We had originally planned this trip over Spring Break but had to reschedule after we lost our break due to winter weather. Justin actually had the Sunday off so we took advantage of a free weekend!

The weather was very chilly but turned beautiful after a rainy Saturday morning. We did quite a bit of exploring around Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Nagshead, Duck, and Corolla.

Saturday began with a trip to the Wright Brother's Memorial, followed by exploring Jockey's Ridge, the world's largest sand dune.

In the afternoon we headed to Currituck Island Lighthouse in Corolla and then spent some time just hanging out on the beach .. with coffee .. it was chilly! :)

Sunday we checked out Bodie Island Lighthouse and ate the famous Black Pelican restaurant before heading back to the Piedmont.

It was a peaceful weekend and a much needed break from the "real world!" What kind of Spring trips do you have planned this year?
