For many people here in Atlanta it was certainty an adventure that will not soon be forgotten. We spent 4 days warm and comfortable in our cozy little home, but so many spent Tuesday night stranded in their vehicles on the highway, at work, or seeking shelter somewhere. We sat glued to the news for a good part of the day Tuesday and Wednesday ourselves watching everything unfold. Justin was lucky it only took him 3 hours to get home on Tuesday afternoon! I was grateful the school's around us decided to play it safe so I was safe and sound at home when the snow started on Tuesday. I never expected to have 4 days off though!
Haha! I couldn't resist!
The snow wasn't totally unexpected, but when you live in Georgia you learn not to hold your breath waiting. As much as trouble as it caused, I loved every second of it! There is something about snow that is so still and peaceful. Quiet. I feel like it is God's way of saying it is time to slow down, spend time with your family, and rest. By Friday we were little stir crazy though! :)
Check out some photos from our adventures from #snowjam2014 !
Kiwi watching the snow fall!
A little redneck sledding .. we were the only ones in our neighborhood with snow suits but we didn't have a sled either! We used a lid and it got the job done!
And now time to rest!
I am actually looking forward to things getting back to normal starting tomorrow .. but it has been a nice, unexpected break. I hope you were able to enjoy it as well!
