“Summer afternoon—summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language."
-Henry James
Liked I mentioned yesterday, we are slowly getting settled into our new home here in North Carolina. However, between moving day and and our trip to Honduras we managed to squeeze in an assortment of summer activities! We've seriously been on the move for weeks now.. living out of suitcases and traveling!
Before leaving Georgia we took one last trip to Stone Mountain, a local favorite.
Our first stop of our traveling was a brief day at Lake Chatuge in the North GA Mountains where my in-laws have a house. It is my favorite place to visit.

Next we headed to Lake Junaluska in Western North Carolina. Justin attended Annual Conference (lots of UMC meetings) while I hung out in Franklin with my family and visited with friends. Justin was also commissioned as a Provisional Elder in the UMC, which was a very special moment! He has officially earned the title of "Reverend!"

When Annual Conference was over we hopped in the car and traveled to Hilton Head Island for a family vacation with Justin's parents, his sister, brother-in-law, and nephew Jax. It was a pretty low key week hanging out by the pool and on the beach. The entire island is accessible by bike so we spent some time biking around the island as well. We also spent a day in Savannah and I would highly recommend the "on and off" trolley tours! Sweet Frogs yogurt bar was also a favorite. We celebrated Justin's birthday while on vacation with crab legs ... and more crabs legs, and more ...
For the 4th of July we headed back to Franklin and were actually able to attend the fireworks this year because it wasn't raining! Shocker! Later in the weekend we headed back to Lake Chatuge for a little boating, sunning, and canoeing. It was my first time canoeing and oh my goodness canoes are heavy!
So what have you been up to this summer?
