friday favorites: the pioneer woman collection

Does anyone else ever watch The Pioneer Woman on TV? She makes some super yummy dishes and I have tried out a few of her recipes. I recently discovered she also launched a line of kitchen cookware that is being sold at Wal-Mart! She has it all from mugs, glasses, plates, bowls, baking dishes, cookware sets, canisters, etc. And every single piece is adorable! I wish I could start over in my kitchen and have all of these pieces, but perhaps I can add a few of my favorites to what I already have!

What a beautiful display! For today's Friday Favorites I have put together a list of some of favorite pieces and patterns. 

1) Dinnerware

friday favorites: visions of pink and gray nurseries

Oh you know, just a little Friday nursery planning happening over here! 

Justin recruited some help this week and actually began turning our extra pink bedroom into a nursery! Even though the walls were already a lighter pink from the previous owners, we were not crazy about the color and decided to paint them a light gray.

I knew I didn't want a "themed" nursery, so I decided on a pink and gray color scheme with some possible teal touches. Check out some of my favorite looks and sources of inspiration so far!

My first source of inspiration comes from this photo from Design Seeds. I love the colors and the slightly "shabby chic" quality.

I have found quite a few beautiful pink and gray nurseries on Pinterest and Project Nursery to serve as sources of inspiration. I love how dainty, soft, and elegant these nurseries feel.

All of these details are simply adorable! Cute storage solutions, a DIY monogram, ruffled pink curtains, and sweet artwork .. all things I could easily put into this space!

I also just love using these Ikea picture ledges in new way for books. These would fit just perfectly between the windows in the room. I am also a huge fan of the Ikea dresser in picture number 2 for the changing pad and a basket for diapering needs. Sounds like we need to make a trip to Ikea!

The last picture is the actual crib bedding set we have picked out from Babies R Us. Turns out it has actually been discontinued, but the store was willing to save the floor model for us at half price! A potential crisis (I had my heart set on this one already) should end up working out in our favor!

I can't wait until we manage to have a finished nursery in the next few months. What are your favorite baby girl nursery looks?

friday favorites: kitchen and baths

It's Friday! Although everyday feels like Friday on Summer Break!

Currently, the hubby is working on our master bathroom. The cabinets are getting a face lift, the walls have become a calming shade of blue, and he is installing a new vanity top and bead board. I can't wait until it is finished! Unfortunately, I'm not much help because he has deemed all of the products he using as toxic for a pregnant lady!

We also went recently to begin the process of having new counter tops installed in our kitchen. We have found a company we want to work with, but we still have to make a decision about which stone! I'm dreaming of a farm house kitchen on a budget!

Which leads me to today's favorites: beautiful and functional bathrooms and kitchens via Pinterest. I've been fawning over some of these looks for months now!

If only I had another bathroom that could have gray cabinets and a feature wall!

This is very similar to the plan we have for our current space!

 Open storage is not really practical, but goodness is it pretty!

We are not redoing our shower, but if we were, I would want this one!

 More gray, more shiplap type walls, more love.

friday favorites: color combos

Fri-Yay! Thank goodness for the weekend!

Are you familiar with a website called Design Seeds? It is one of my favorite websites where pictures are used as inspiration for pulling out color choices. I'm obsessed! I've compiled a few of my favorite combinations to share for this weeks Friday Favorites!

I think I love the photographs sometimes even more then the colors that have been pulled out .. they really seem to set the tone for the rooms or projects. As you can tell, I love grays, blues, and inspiration that feels earthy, natural, or antique-ish. (And coral .. my closet is full of the pink color family!)

 Pops of coral .. Yes. Neutral gray .. Yes!

 Can't say I'm going to paint a room purple .. but I still like it!

 Perfect colors for a nursery one day.

 Clean and bright neutrals.

 Pop of teal .. another win.

 Earth tone blues .. my go to!

 I've always loved red .. our bonus room fits this color inspiration perfectly!

And last but not least, this photo doesn't come from Design Seeds, but I love this inspiration for pattern and color mixing. Pattern mixing is outside of my comfort zone and doesn't feel natural to me .. but these tips from Abby M. Interiors make it seem easy!

friday favorites: boots!

Happy New Year ya'll!

So I love boots of all shapes, sizes, and colors. I've had my eye on like, ummm, 5 different pairs but I haven't bought any because I can't seem to make a decision.  However, I am not crazy about tall heels- they may look pretty, but they are not practical for my everyday life. This week for Friday Favorites I am sharing a few of  my favorite boots with you! (And the good news is most of them are fairly inexpensive!)

 Tall boots:

 I would love to have some grayish riding boots and I love the zippered look. I am also a fan of the cognac "slouch" boots that are pretty flat as well. And of course the two toned boots match everything!

friday favorites: fall!

Happy Friday and Happy Fall Ya'll!

This beautiful picture from last year doesn't reflect the here trees yet .. but I know it is coming! Unfortunately, it has been a very rainy, chilly, dreary start to fall. And yesterday also included a flat tire ...

But it is Friday and I can't wait to share my favorite things about fall!

1) One word: PUMPKIN!

Seriously, I love pumpkin. Pumpkin roll, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin iced coffee (gosh it is so good!), iced pumpkin latte ... yum!

2) Fall scents!

Confession .. I might have different Bath and Body Works products for each season. But those Fall scents smell so good! The candles, hand soap, and lotion are ready for use.

3) Boots!

My favorites have made their official appearance for the season .. ankle boots and riding boots!

 

4) Fall decorating.

I'm so sad that this year I am not decorating for Fall (minus a few pumpkins outside) because it is my favorite to decorate for .. but everything is packed up and we are moving in the middle of November. You can check out last year's fall decorating and projects here!

5) Pumpkin patch, corn mazes, festivals, and fairs.

Every year we attend the local Pumpkin Festival and it one my favorites! And who doesn't enjoy spending an afternoon or evening getting lost in a corn maze? Or eating fresh apples? Yum! Plus, I love the traditions that are created around pumpkin carving and other fall activities!

6) Cozy nights under a blanket.

A mug of hot cider or tea, a good book or movie, and you are set for a night cozy night at home with loved ones!

7) Fall TV shows .. Greys Anatomy is baaaaccckk !#TGIT

Scandal is also pretty great .. but I only understand about half of what goes on. :)


8) The beautiful leaves, "October" blue sky, and hazy afternoon sun. 

I pretty sure nature speaks for itself this time year. There is just something about the way Fall feels.

There are so many fantastic things to enjoy about every season .. and this one is just getting started! What are your favorite Fall moments?
