the weekend + an announcement

hello again friends,

welcome to the busiest time of the school year.... not to mention that I have a new boss and we are waiting for evaluations any day now! Eeek .. it is a stressful and busy couple weeks and I am feeling swamped already.

Thank goodness for the weekends to catch up and find a few moments to relax.

Friday night we hosted a cookout with some friends from church.

Saturday morning was spent working on a fundraiser for our Honduras trip .. which is exactly 1 month from today!

Saturday afternoon we headed to the strawberry patch for a little strawberry picking and then later out for a date night. Justin finished up all of his exams and papers on Friday so it was time to celebrate the end of the semester -- FOREVER!

MMMMM .. these strawberries are so good! So far they have made some tasty smoothies!

Sunday involved cleaning, church, and of course the ever present lesson planning, assessment, and a million other things for school. It was a late night.

But the best part of Sunday was worship with my hubby's youth ... we headed up to a local hiking destination I've posted about before: Arabia Mountain. It's a short hike so we were able to spend just a few quiet moments in God's sanctuary. It was also a little sad ... this was the last "regular" night of youth for us. There are a couple more weeks left but they each have something special going on. The endings are beginning as we prepare to move to the next chapter.

ANNDDD .. Sunday marked the official day that we can announce where we are headed come July 1! Justin received his appointment as the Associate Pastor at Tabernacle UMC in Greensboro, NC. He will be doing youth ministry half of the time and other pastoral duties the other half. We felt very welcome at this church when we visited back in February and we are excited for new opportunities!

I am still not sure what this means for my job. I have struggled for 3 years now to find my place as a  teacher and figure out if this is really the right profession for me. I love the actual act of teaching itself .. but there is so much more to it that I'm not sure about. I can't imagine doing something else, but I also can't imagine keeping up this pace and living under this pressure for 30 more years either. Am I the only teacher that ever feels this way?  I'm trying to keep my options open and would really appreciate a few prayers along the way! I'm confident that God will provide, it's just the waiting part that I'm not good at!

that's all for today .. have a great week!
