Hi friends!
I'm still here! :)
I have been so, so, very busy at work. It is the end of the 9 weeks and report cards and conferences are here .. I am having a hard time believing we are 1/4 of the way through the school year! I can't help but think when the last time was I wrote anything of real substance or created something .. but it is coming .. we close on our house in 18 days!
Meanwhile, I'll just let you in on a small glimpse of my weekends!
Last weekend was super low key and I am proud to say that I left my house a total of 2 times! It really was just what I needed .. time to catch up on chores at home and some rest!
One of the times I did actually leave was Saturday night when I headed to the Festival of Tables at our church. It was a night full of fellowship and laughter as the men served the women and we enjoyed an entertaining show that even included "Dolly Parton!" My tablemates even brought me this little hat to go along with our table's country rooster theme.
And this past weekend I had my first experience at the NC State Fair in Raleigh, an October original! (I know, NC born and bred and I'm not sure how I have never been!) I think it is safe to say that it will become a Fall tradition. We didn't have quite all day to spend, but we did peruse the craft section, flowers, food vendors, animals, produce, and the rides section. Next year a ride on the ferris wheel and a pig race are a must! I'm telling you, you never know what you will find at a fair .. just check out some of these pictures!
Dinner for a week .. or more ..
The largest pumpkin .. let's make pumpkin everything!
Like I said .. you never know what you will see.
I want one of these Ukrainian eggs. End of story.
Oh and Clarice came to visit too!
Plus, Sunday I headed to downtown Greensboro with my hubby's youth for the Crop Walk .. another new event I am looking forward to attending again. 3.1 miles for raise awareness and money for hunger.
And now, just working my way through this week where I have put in way, way too many hours at work and still have oh so much to do. Not to mention, my lesson plans apparently didn't save after I had spent HOURS on them. :(
Butttt. . . . I can't wait for this weekend .. we are finally headed home after over 3 months to attend multiple weddings! I can't wait to be back in my mountains!
