songs of solomon pallet art

Hello friends,

This weather ya'll .. there is only so much rain we can all take! But I know we should be grateful we are not experiencing the flooding that some areas are!

On this rainy Sunday afternoon I am writing maternity plans and there is simply not an end in sight .. I've decided to take a break to share a project with you that I actually completed over the summer!

I had shared previously about the pallet art that I had created for our bedroom a few years ago. You can check out the original post here and a more recent post about our master bedroom here as well. One day I simply decided that I wanted to redo the artwork and went to work!

Before:

After- a fresh coat of paint and a change of font style.

These verses are just perfect for a master bedroom and serve as a great reminder.

And as a bonus- the cozy reading nook in the corner finally got a new lamp! And my favorite pillow from Kirklands!

Easy, simple projects are my favorite!

DIY pallet art: oh christmas tree!

Oh, hello blogger world!

So I decided to take an impromptu break from blogging .. I've simply been overwhelmed and overworked for several weeks and couldn't imagine fitting in just one more thing. But it is Christmas break (Hallelujah!!!) so maybe after some rest and a chance to catch up on things I will be refreshed for the new year!

I did have to share this super simple project with you though! However, I am sad to say it has been my only Christmas project this year.

For this project you need 2 wooden boards from a pallet, a small amount of white paint, and a handy husband to put together a Christmas tree shape for you.

Isn't this project adorable? I didn't even paint or stain the wood -- I just kept it natural. The best part is you can do this entire project in under an hour!

I took my inspiration from Pinterest (where else?)  ... check out some other ideas for creating Christmas trees from scrap wood.

DIY pallet artwork

Hello friends!

If you have spent any time on my blog or follow me Pinterest, then you know that I love wooden signs, particularly those made from old pallets! I've made several myself so far, and I am really pleased with how my newest pallet artwork turned out! (I promise I do not display all of these at once! Several of the ones I have made have been seasonal, plus I love to change out what I have up!)

I just love this reminder .. definitely words to live by! Like before,  I simply stained the pallet boards with Rusteleom's Dark Walnut color and then free handed the letters. The letters never turn out 100% perfect with spacing and such, but I suppose it adds character? :)

I've had this project in my mind for quite some time now. I gathered my inspiration from Pinterest of course!

DIY Christmas Art

I promised more crafts and now I have been MIA for over a week!

This past weekend my in-laws popped in for a quick visit and I have been completely swamped with end of the semester school work! I have spent HOURS each night completing assessment and conference forms.

But I am taking a little time off tonight to bring you some DIY Christmas artwork. There are so many great Christmas signs on Pinterest I have had a hard time choosing which ones to make! I hope to make a few more, but I want to share what I have accomplished so far!

First up, DIY Christmas Pallet sign for my mantel. Here was my inspiration:

Here is my version. Love how it turned it out!

Here is my inspiration for the second sign that I made:
And here is my version. Instead of using a pallet I happened to find an empty canvas in my attic.

Check out some other Pinterest Christmas artwork I am loving!

A DIY Fall

Happy Fall Ya'll!

It is finally starting to feel more like Fall here in Georgia and I'm excited to break out my skinny jeans and boots! It's been a busy weekend, including my birthday! I'll share about that tomorrow!

I've been working on some DIY projects for Fall and I'm ready to share them with you today. Check back later this week for my Fall mantle reveal and soon for some DIY Halloween projects!

First up: DIY Pallet Artwork

I stained my sign with Dark Walnut. I actually had to redo part of it because I realized I made a misspelling! My inspiration came from this photo:

Next, DIY Fall bunting. I've seen these all over Pinterest and couldn't decide what I wanted it to say!

I simply hot glued the burlap onto twine and used a stencil for the letters.

My last project for you today is my DIY Fall wreath.

I actually bought the flowers for it last year on clearance! Originally, I had thought I would do a completely burlap wreath, but I was little intimidated by the tutorials I found online. Then, I saw this one and thought, I can do that!

I hot glued the flowers on the wreath after wrapping the burlap around. I then painted my half price letter from Micheal's in a chevron pattern.

That's all for today! Check back later this week for more Fall decor!

Guest Bedroom: DIY Pallet Artwork

Happy Sunday ya'll! Well at least for a few more minutes .. its always so late when I finally make it around to blogging!

This weekend the hubby and did ALOT of things around the house, spent some time volunteering at church, and some window shopping. Last night we took Senior Pictures for one of my hubby's youth. But tomorrow morning we are headed the to BEACH! I'm excited!

On Friday I finished my DIY pallet artwork for my guest bedroom. This room is most definitely in progress as we have some extra money! Anyway, after searching through Pinterest, I came up with some inspiration:

Here is my version:

My hubby put together the boards for me and I stained them with some left over stain. The color is Dark Walnut. (Tip: Don't stir the stain or the color will be much darker). I used a combination of freehand and a stencil for the words.

And here is how it looks in my room:

Right now, the room is missing a headboard, curtains, coordinating accessories, and really needs different nightstands. But I LOVE my bedspread. It came from Kohls. My walls are a dark gray. I really didn't like the color when I first painted it, but it has grown on me! The plan is to DIY a headboard from wood in the same color as my pallet artwork. I would love to add some sheer yellow curtains, but I haven't found any yet in the right color. The nightstands that are in here are the ones we moved from our bedroom when we got new ones .. they either need a makeover or a new home! I also want to do some fun white mirrors either over the nightstands or the headboard. Like I said, a work in progress!

From the front. This bedroom is pretty small!

Well I am headed to bed so I can get up bright and early tomorrow! Yay for vacation!
